Five of our holiday cottages are converted barns, four of which are located on our small working farm. The other is centrally located in the village and shares a site with our largest cottage which was formerly the village school. All have been tastefully refurbished and are full of character and charm. You will find that all the cottages are well equipped, spacious and very comfortable.The cottages range in size and can comfortably accommodate up to 15 people. Group bookings are welcome and if all the cottages are booked together we can accommodate 47 people making us ideal for family gatherings, walking parties, cycling groups and much more!All of our cottages are located around Frosterley, a small village in the Heart of the North Pennines an area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Being surrounded by most beautiful scenery provides us with some fabulous walking and cycling routes right on our doorstep. Within the village there are two pubs that serve food, a shop and a takeaway serving fish and chips and pizzas.We are conveniently situated to visit the historic city of Durham, Beamish Museum, Killhope Wheel, High Force, Barnard Castle and both Northumberland and the Lake District can be reached within an hour’s drive.All of the holiday cottages are available for short breaks, for weeks or longer term stays and pets are very welcome.
Overlooking the River Wear and with fabulous views over the surrounding countryside you have our smallest cottage “River View”. With its beamed ceilings the cottage is full of character and charm which helps to create it’s warm and cosy feel.

Betsdale is our cosy detached cottage located within the village of Frosterley. Formerly an 18th Century barn it has been tastefully converted into a warm and spacious cottage.
As its name states 'The Old Byre' was exactly that. This building was our former milking byre on the farm before it was tastefully converted by us into this lovely cottage.
As its name states 'The Stables' were exactly that. This building was the former Stables on our farm before they were tastefully converted by us.
The Gin Gang is a stone built barn conversion which is full of character and it has fabulous views over the surrounding countryside and the River Wear.
This large detached house was originally the village school and was totally renovated to provide a very spacious, good quality, well equipped holiday home.
We explored the local towns, Durham, Newcastle, Auckland Castle, Raby Castle, Hamsterley Forest and played Golf at Brancepeth Castle. All of which were fab days out and fell in love with the scenery and local life. Valerie was a brilliant host and this house was fantastic.

We enjoyed the garden and BBQ and the boys especially enjoyed the pool table. We spent a day at South Shields, did a lovely bike ride through Hamsterley Forest and a spent a day at Alnwick Castle. We even had fun when it rained!
The accommodation was extremely comfortable and the gardens superb - the kids really enjoyed the games room too.We enjoyed the stunning scenery and went on some lovely walks. Thank you for being so helpful!
